Founded to address the inequality of digital access, the company was born from the belief that opportunity should not depend on where you are born. fibertime™ builds and operates township‑focused fiber networks that deliver affordable, pay as you go, uncapped internet to every type of dwelling. In a fast‑moving digital economy, where lack of internet access can exclude individuals from education, employment and participation, this infrastructure plays a vital role in enabling communities to shape their own futures rather than being left behind.
Challenge
- The primary challenge was finding a reliable backhaul provider to facilitate the delivery of uncapped fiber to these specific communities.
- For a long time, people living in South African townships were excluded from accessing uncapped fiber internet.

Solution
- To remove the pressure of monthly bills, a pay-as-you-go model was implemented using daily vouchers for as little as R5 per day.
